Beware of Hyocrites

BEWARE OF HYPOCRITES

Once a fox was roaring in a forest searching for food. As to his bad luck, he got caught up in a trap. He tried his best to get free but lost his tail in the struggle. He felt very small, thinking that now, every fox would laugh at him. He felt so sad that he thought of committing suicide. But then he said to himself, "It is cowardice to kill oneself. I should think of something else."

At last, the fox planned to persuade all the foxes to part with their tails. So, he called a meeting of all the foxes and said, "We should get rid of our tails as they are heavy, ugly and tiresome."

Though, he tried to divert the attention of all the foxes from his tail less appearance, one clever fox noticed it and said, "Sir! you wouldn't have given us this advice, if you weren't tail less. Isn't it?"

So, we say, "hypocrisy seldom works"

Once a huge oak tree stood on the bank of a river. It was well nourished by the water of the river. Naturally, it was very strong and had a thick stem. Just nearby, grew some reeds with thin but flexible stems. They stood almost half in water and had flourished well too.

One day, strong winds blew. The tree, though huge and strong, broke from the middle and was thrown across the stream just among the reeds. On the other hand, the tree was very surprised to see that the reeds suffered no harm at all.

The oak could not make out the reason of the safety of the reeds and asked them, "How is it that, you being frail and slender, managed to face the gale without any harm. But I, strong enough, have been broken."

The reeds replied, "You were proud of your strength and refused to bend. So, you broke while we bowed and yielded to the gale and were spared."

Beauty is not enternal

BEAUTY IS NOT ETERNAL

Once there was a gardener having a beautiful garden of flower-plants-mostly rose plants. By chance a lily plant blossomed near a rose-bush.

Lily is believed to yield flowers that never fade and have an everlasting beauty. But the rose flowers have a short life.

The lily said to the rose, "How beautiful you are! What an aroma you possess! No wonder, you are universally a favourite flower. I really envy you.

" The rose replied, "You wouldn't have said so, if you knew the reality. My bloom is very short-lived. I bloom in the morning and by sunset I begin to loose shine. By the next morning I fade completely and then I die. But you are known to have flowers that never fade even if they have been cut. Beauty is only a nine-day wonder."

As you sow. , So shall you reap

AS YOU SOW, SO SHALL YOU REAP

Once upon a time a flea saw an ox grazing in a pasture. He knew that oxen work for men in their farms. But he didn't like it. He was proud that he fed on men's blood and yet didn't do anything for them.

Approaching the ox, the flea asked, "How is it so that you work for men though you are quite big and strong? Look at me, I never do anything for them and yet feed on their blood though I am so small."

The ox was surprised to hear what the flea had said and replied, "If I work for men, they are very kind to me. They take care of mine in every way, feed me, shelter me and moreover, pat me on my back, head and neck out of love and affection.

On the other hand, you feed on their blood and they are always up to destroy you."

Behaviour always counts.

Appearences are often deceiving

APPEARENCES ARE OFTEN DECEIVING

It was a very cold day in the winter season. A crow was flying here and there searching for food. Suddenly, he saw a snake lying curled up in a sunny spot. It was sun bathing because of extreme cold. It lay quite motionless indeed. So, the crow thought it to be dead.

The crow swooped down and carried it away in his claws. He decided to fly to a sedate place where he could eat it up without any disturbance.

Though, the snake was hanging in the sky, it was trying to raise it's head and bite the crow. Lo! With one big attempt, it raised it's head and bit the crow with it's fangs.

As the crow was very poisonous, it's bite proved fatal and the crow died immediately.

While dying the crow said, "How deceptive indeed! I thought I had found a lucky meal without knowing that it was my death warrant."

One day a deer went to a pool to quench his thirst. The pool water was so clear and still that he could see his reflection in it quite vividly. He looked at the image of his antlers and felt proud of their beauty.

Suddenly, his eyes fell on the reflection of his fore-legs. Though slender to look at, they gave him his high speed. But he felt sad seeing them. With heavy heart, he quenched his thirst hardly, had he raised his head when he saw a lion coming towards him. So, he took to his heels and the lion was left far behind.

The deer took a sigh of relief. But unfortunately, his antlers got caught in a thicket. He tried his best to be free but could not. In the meantime, the lion came quite closer.

The deer now cursed himself for condemning his legs and praising his horns. But now he could do nothing. The lion overtook him and tore him to pieces.

The deer was having pride for his horns because of which, he became the food of the lion. On the other hand, he was cursing his legs, which only could save him from the grip of the lion.

Once, a rich boy went to visit his native village. It was a sunny afternoon and he was feeling very hungry. So, he bought some food from a farmer and sat under a tree to eat.

Suddenly, he saw a poor boy standing at a distance and found that he was very hungry. He decided to leave some food for the poor boy. But, as he was very hungry, he forgot. He ate all the things. When he drank water, he saw something written at the base of the vessel, "Those who don't care for poor have no right to have food."

So the rich boy bought some food for the poor boy and gave it to him.
